O OverSlide AI

A Chrome extension for Google Slides

A teaching toolbox built into Google Slides.

Visualiser, periodic table, calculator, AI hinge questions and exam papers, all on top of the deck you already teach from.

Launching late 2026. Free for the first month, no card needed.

Why this exists

Built by a working secondary teacher in the UK, not a startup. I made OverSlide AI for my own classroom because I was tired of tab-switching to grab a calculator, hunt for a formula sheet, or spin up a quick check question mid-lesson. It is the tool I wished existed during a Year 11 mock paper review on a wet Tuesday afternoon. If it earns its place on my taskbar, it might earn its place on yours.

What you get

Six tools, ready when the lesson needs them.

Everything sits on top of your existing Google Slides deck. Toggle a tool on, use it, toggle it off. The slide is still right there underneath.

  • Visualiser overlay

Show anything from your laptop camera over the slide. Live demos, marking exemplars, kit close-ups. No swapping to a separate app.

  • Periodic table on demand

A clean, full periodic table you can pull up on top of any slide. Tap an element for the details students actually need.

  • Formula sheets at a click

Maths and physics formula sheets in a tidy overlay. Pull them up while a question is on the board, dismiss them when you are done.

  • Calculator overlay

A scientific calculator pinned where you need it. Useful in the moment a student asks what that is to two significant figures.

  • AI hinge questions

Generate a hinge question from the slide you are currently teaching. Tells you whether the class actually got it before you move on.

  • AI exam paper generation

Build a topic-specific paper from the content of a deck. Mark scheme included, ready to print or push to your VLE.

In the lesson

What it looks like running on a deck.

A few screenshots and a quick demo of the tools in action over a real Slides deck.

Sixty seconds, in lesson.

A short walk-through of the toolbar and a couple of the tools running on top of a real deck.

Demo video placeholder

Drop a file at /video/demo.mp4 and a poster image at /video/demo-poster.jpg, then set videoSrc in Showcase.astro.

How it works

Three steps, then forget it is there.

  1. 01

    Install the extension

Add OverSlide AI from the Chrome Web Store. One click, no setup wizard.

  2. 02

    Sign in with Google

Use the Google account you already use for Slides. We do not ask for anything we do not need.

  3. 03

    Open any Slides deck

A small toolbar appears in the corner. Tools turn on and off as you teach. That is the whole thing.
